It’s fair to say, that in the modern millenia, men are becoming more open to using skincare and grooming products. There are many that are still of the soap and water variety, and many are coming slowly around to the idea of using something ‘girly’, albeit with quite a lot of kicking and screaming going on, so here’s a rundown of some of our favourite Grooming products, and with some male review comments too!
SKINN Merz & Wines – Total Shave. Smelled nice, felt smooth too.
FISH – StoneFish Matt Texturising Clay. Great, cool spikes, stayed up well. (Jack, Sam’s 9 year old son!)
SUPERDRY – Dry Cologne. Great smell, not too effeminate, quite appealing.
StriVectin-SD Eye Concentrate for Wrinkles. Wife noticed the difference more than I did. I’ll take her word for it!
RITUALS – No 10 Lemongrass + Neroli Eau De Parfum for Men. Lovely smell, crisp and clean. Quite different to others on the market.
ANTHONY – Oil Free Facial Lotion. Felt nice to use something post shave that didn’t sting like a b!tch (quoted exactly as it was said to us…!)
MARKS & SPENCERS – Iconic Eau De Toilette for Men. Smelt a little old-manish. Better for my Dad than me.
SHAVEWORKS – The Cool Fix Targeted Gel Lotion. Really good, stopped me getting spots in my regrowth. Really pleased.
COWSHED – Bullocks Bracing Body Wash. Good strong manly smell, really was bracing though.
DECLEOR – Soothing Aftershave Fluid. Really nice, smelled fresh, left my skin feeling soft too, like a proper barber shop fresh.
GLOSSYBOX – For Men. Clever idea, would like to carry on trying this set out. I’m a modern man, reluctant however to go into department stores to ask questions of counter staff. This will be a good alternative.
ANTHONY – Dietary Supplement ENERGY. I didn’t notice a great deal of difference, but my girlfriend reliably informs me that she didn’t have to nag me as often to empty bins, dishwasher etc. Guess it works then.
TED BAKER - The Right Tools Workshop Hair & Body Wash and Deodorant. Nice to layer some smells that don’t smell like talc or my Dad. Good packaging too.
TED BAKER – Skinwear Eau De Toilette. Love this, really nice smell. My wife really likes it too…!
4711 – Eau de Cologne. Nice smell initially, does fade to slightly wet grass smell though.
BIODROGA – 24 Hour Moisturising Fluid for Men. Smooth and absorbed quickly. Didn’t leave me feeling greasy. Good plain packaging.
NATUR VITAL – Intensive Hair Loss Serum. Didn’t notice a lot of difference, but a couple of colleagues have teasingly asked if I’ve had a hair job.
G is also for ….
Glossybox. The original try-before-you-buy sampling kits. You either love them or loathe them. Take them for exactly what they are. Sample sized products so that you don’t have to waste money buying something you’ll hate. That’s the essence of them, and they do what they say on the tin!
GOSH Cosmetics. A range of makeup that works well for both the consumer and the professional. Don’t expect a 20 hour wear from them, but do expect a good palette of colours, and a very reasonable 8 hour life.
Growl Lipstick from Illamasqua. Perfect crayon brown, for a different take on summer colours. Dare to be different.
Golden Lemon pigment from MAC. Lay it soft and sheer for a pretty lemony look, or pack it on for an out there golden glamour.
Grey Eyeshadow from Bobbi Brown. The perfect toneless grey, one that suits everyone.
Gold Digger Larger Than Life Lipgloss from NARS. Perfect soft shimmery gold for summertime.
Garnet Desire Pure Colour Eyeshadow from Estee Lauder. Summer has arrived, with this stunning limited edition colour.
Glow Blush Blushwear Cream Stick from Clinique. One to swoosh and go. Carry it in your handbag for an extra top up throughout the day.
Graffiti 24/7 Glide on Eyeliner from Urban Decay. Metal pencils that don’t shift or budge? In the perfect grass green? Yes please!
